Walker Mill Regional Park

With over 500 acres of land to explore, this Walker Mill Regional Park offers plenty of activities. If you like to play sports, there is a baseball diamond, basketball court, football field, soccer field, tennis court, and skate park. There are walking trails that you can also bike on and picnic areas to relax with friends or have cookouts. This park will remind you of a fairytale village.

Suitland Bog Natural Area

Suitland Bog Natural Area is a calm park where you can relax or take a guided tour with a park ranger. Plenty of rare plants can be found at this park as well as an abundance of animals. Sensitive Fern, Cinnamon Fern, Virginia Pine, Persian Silk Tree, and White Clover are only a few of the plants that call this park home. Groundhogs, red foxes, and raccoons are a few animals that you can see too. You will be welcomed with the famous metal gate with the park’s name on it and a tree and animals surrounding it. 

Savage Mill Trail

The adventurous Savage Mill Trail offers scenic views of the Patuxent River. Whether you’re a novice or experienced hiker, there is a path for your comfort level. There is a well-kept bridge you can cross over, a basketball court, a soccer field, and a tennis area. There are remnants of an old dam that you can explore and fish for trout while sitting on the rocks. The trail is dog-friendly as well.
